BRP Readies Launch of Hot SxS Lineup

May 31, 2010

New Models Could Be Released Within Two Weeks

You can spell the DNA of Canada’s BRP powersports manufacturer as EXCITEMENT. No conservative, working machines for this global OEM based in Valcourt, Quebec. It builds and sells the high performance Ski-Doo snowmobiles, Sea-Doo watercraft, and Can-Am ATVs, and the category building, on-road three-wheel Spyder.

So, when we start talking about BRP launching a line-up of side-by-side machines, we’re not talking about another lawn tractor. We’re talking about something like Polaris‘s very hot RZR UTV. Expect to see the new models from BRP before mid-June.

Distance Record Set by PWC Rider

December 5, 2008

Floridian Mike Pagliccia, 44, has achieved the longest distance traveled on a personal watercraft in a 24-hour period.

Pagliccia traveled 624 miles aboard his Sea-Doo GTI 130. He started at 7 a.m. Friday Nov. 7 and finished pwcrecord at 7 a.m. Saturday Nov. 8. His endurance record raised $5000 for the YMCA of Naples. The PWC was provided by Florida Motor Sports.

“It was rough,” Pagliccia told the Naples News. “We had a little snafu near Tarpon Springs when a plastic water bottle got sucked into the intake.”

He said there were times along his journey that his mind began playing tricks on him. “It was totally dark at night, and I couldn’t see a thing,” he said. “At one point, I thought I saw a body listing in the waves, but it turned out to be a buoy. I started seeing things, especially when the moonlight reflected off the waves. I couldn’t see the waves until I was already on them, and there were a few times that I almost lost it and wiped out.”

The World Records Academy says Pagliccia’s new record breaks the record of 604.6 miles set by Croatian Davor Hundic.
