BMW Rider Pfeiffer Stunts KYMCO Super 9

March 23, 2009

Multi-time World Stunt Champion Chris Pfeiffer recently performed atop a KYMCO scooter during an exhibition in Friedrichshafen, Germany.

Pfeiffer is under contract with the BMW Group, so his performance on a KYMCO, at the request of a German KYMCO dealer, had to be approved by the German OEM.

Pfeiffer chose the KYMCO Super 9 LC for the 10-minute show, which included wheelies, stoppies and a host of other high level stunts.

Taiwan’s KYMCO (Kwang Yang Motor Co. Ltd.) produces the engine for BMW’s G 450 X enduro – which Pfeiffer traditionally stunts along with an F 800 R.

Distance Record Set by PWC Rider

December 5, 2008

Floridian Mike Pagliccia, 44, has achieved the longest distance traveled on a personal watercraft in a 24-hour period.

Pagliccia traveled 624 miles aboard his Sea-Doo GTI 130. He started at 7 a.m. Friday Nov. 7 and finished pwcrecord at 7 a.m. Saturday Nov. 8. His endurance record raised $5000 for the YMCA of Naples. The PWC was provided by Florida Motor Sports.

“It was rough,” Pagliccia told the Naples News. “We had a little snafu near Tarpon Springs when a plastic water bottle got sucked into the intake.”

He said there were times along his journey that his mind began playing tricks on him. “It was totally dark at night, and I couldn’t see a thing,” he said. “At one point, I thought I saw a body listing in the waves, but it turned out to be a buoy. I started seeing things, especially when the moonlight reflected off the waves. I couldn’t see the waves until I was already on them, and there were a few times that I almost lost it and wiped out.”

The World Records Academy says Pagliccia’s new record breaks the record of 604.6 miles set by Croatian Davor Hundic.
